Liverpool Player Ratings: Watford (H)
Liverpool were rampant at Anfield this evening as they crushed Watford with a 5-0 win.
It was a star-studded performance from the Reds and Mohamed Salah continued his irresistible form this season with a quite sublime four goals on the night.
Roberto Firmino connected with Salah’s low cross to make it 3-0 to the Reds but the Egyptian international netted Liverpool’s four other goals in some style.
The win takes Liverpool back up to third place on the Premier League table as they head into the international break.
Here are our Liverpool player ratings following the 5-0 victory.
Loris Karius – 6: Karius was comfortable throughout. He had absolutely nothing to do as Liverpool were so dominant throughout.
Joe Gomez – 7: Got forward and supported Salah well. Had little defensive responsibility to attend to.
Joel Matip – 8: Matip was extremely composed on the ball and was well positioned in the rare occasions when Watford went forward. He had a good game.
Virgil van Dijk – 8: Van Dijk continued his god form and was thoroughly dominant in central defence. He’s imperious and is leading the Liverpool defence well.
Andy Robertson – 8: His cross for Salah’s second was phenomenal. He’s playing well and had a simple yet effective evening.
Emre Can – 6: Started the game brightly but hobbled off with an injury. Liverpool fans will hope that he can make a speedy recovery.
Jordan Henderson – 7: Dictated the tempo from deep and had little to do in terms of winning the midfield battle.
Gini Wijnaldum – 6: Didn’t have a bad game by any means but was not exactly effective in the middle. He was substituted deep into the second-half.
Mohamed Salah – 10: Four shots, four goals. The Premier League’s top goalscorer was absolutely breathtaking on the day.
Sadio Mane – 8: A vibrant performance from Mane on the left. He continued to hassle the Watford’s defence and his energy helped to assist Salah on two occasions.
Roberto Firmino – 8: Netted an audacious flick at the near post and continued his good run of form. He pressed relentlessly and enjoyed yet another top display.
Substitutes
James Milner – 7: A typically efficient performance from Milner. He showed off his strong passing range and kept the play ticking over.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6: Did not impact the game all that much but brought energy to the midfield.
Danny Ings – 6: Came so close to netting at least once and was unlucky not to. He found good positions, though, and led the line well.
