Salah hails teammates following Watford rout
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah praised his teammates following the Reds’ rampant 5-0 win over Watford this evening.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they moved up to third in the Premier League with a highly comprehensive win over Javi Gracia’s side.
Salah was at his brilliant best at Anfield on the night, as he contributed with a quite staggering total of four goals to help Liverpool to another important victory. The Egyptian international also contributed with an assist, setting up Roberto Firmino with a well-timed cross.
However, after the game, Salah was quick to laud the players around him, directing the praise their way. As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, he expressed his gratitude towards the Reds’ players.
I have to thank my teammates, they have helped me so I could reach this number (of goals). Each game we try to get the three points, that’s the most important thing, but every game I want to score, I want to help the team.
The quartet of goals takes Salah up to 36 for the season in all competitions, also leaving him sat pretty at the top of the Premier League top goalscorers’ table.
I think we showed a good reaction after the last game, we had a good result – 5-0 – and a clean sheet is important. We now look forward to the next game.
