Max Meyer looks increasingly likely to leave Schalke in the summer and many clubs, including Liverpool, are vying for his signature, but it appears as if he won’t be ending up at the Camp Nou.
According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, as cited by talkSPORT, La Liga giants Barcelona have now ended their interest in Meyer as they look to pursue other options, thus boosting Liverpool’s chances of getting the German international.
Barcelona recently announced the signing of Gremio and Brazil midfielder Arthur in a deal reportedly worth €40m, which could be a contributing factor towards them no longer looking at Meyer.

Schalke have already lost Leon Goretzka to Bayern Munich on a free transfer and will be desperate not to see Meyer follow suit, but after rejecting a new contract with the Bundesliga club, it is looking increasingly more likely that he will move on.
The German playmaker is set to become a free agent when his contract expires in June and he has also been linked with Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham so even with Barcelona out of the race, Liverpool will still have a lot of work to do to convince Meyer that his future lies at Liverpool.
