Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has withdrawn from Croatia’s squad for their upcoming friendly matches as a result of an injury concern, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Lovren has been enjoying a more involved role in the Liverpool side of late but has been struggling with a knock. This led him to being excluded from the Reds’ matchday squad from their 5-0 home win against Anfield at the weekend.

The centre-back has been struggling with injuries throughout the course of the season but has been in decent form in recent times. This has been brought to a halt, though, with Lovren being forced to withdraw from his national side’s squad.
An injury to Lovren is not the only concern for Liverpool, though, as their expected summer arrival Naby Keita is also struggling for fitness.
He has been forced to pull out of Guinea’s squad as a result of an injury to his spine that he sustained whilst playing for RB Leipzig.
