Mohamed Salah’s contract has no release clause
There had been some rumblings in the press about Mohamed Salah’s contract at Liverpool, with some suggesting that the Egyptian forward had a release clause in his deal, but ESPN’s Glenn Price is reporting that there is no truth to that speculation.
Salah, who rose to the top of the Premier League’s top scorer charts thanks to his four goals against Watford, is already being linked with a move away from the club but Liverpool are insisting that he is not for sale and the revelation that he has no release clause will only further increase the likelihood that he stays at Anfield.
Liverpool want to get themselves competing with the top clubs in Europe once again and in order to do that, they need to put a halt to the trend of them selling on their best players.
Owners Fenway Sports Group are apparently adamant that Salah, or anyone else in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for that matter, will not be sold.
There is understandably some doubts about that from the supporters who’ve seen so many big players sold, so FSG will need to back up their words with actions, both this summer and beyond.
