Jurgen Klopp has instructed Liverpool’s transfer team to pursue a deal to sign Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos, according to reports in Spain.
With Emre Can set to leave Liverpool when his contract expires, Klopp has already begun preparing for life without the German international and it looks like Ceballos is the man he wants to bring in as a replacement.
21-year-old Ceballos moved to Madrid from Real Betis last summer for a fee of around €18 million, but he’s found game time hard to come by as the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Marco Asensio, Mateo Kovacic and Casimiro are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Ceballos was named as the best player at the European Under-21 Championships last year, and his arrival at Madrid was met with a lot of positivity from supporters, but he’s not been able to get on the pitch as much as he would like.
The former Betis man is reportedly looking for a move this summer and Klopp has apparently asked Liverpool to bring him in.
Ceballos’ former club Betis are also keen to bring him back, but Liverpool, if they come calling, should be the favourites to sign the midfielder.
