Liverpool target Real Madrid star midfielder
Liverpool are eyeing Isco from Real Madrid to be Philippe Coutinho’s long-term replacement, according to sources in Spain.
Jurgen Klopp will be looking to fill the hole in his squad left by the Brazilian’s departure this summer, having not yet spent the £142million the club received for the Barcelona bound star in January.
Isco, full name Francisco Alarcón, joined Madrid from Malaga in 2013 and while he was initially seen as a flop, he has turned his career with the Galacticos around and now is one of the star players in the capital.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claim that Klopp is a big admirer of Isco, and could be prepared to offer him a new challenge this summer.
Don Balon also claim that with the future of Gareth Bale looking uncertain, Madrid are eyeing Mohamed Salah as a replacement.
While they claim Liverpool would demand around €180million, the club believe that Isco would make a good makeweight to drive down Salah’s price tag.
