Mohamed Salah has revealed his thoughts surrounding his time spent at Chelsea, in an interview with Sky Sports.

The winger was signed by the Blues in 2014 from FC Basel, and struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

Being loaned out to Serie A on two occasions (first to Fiorentina, then to Roma), then-manager Jose Mourinho decided to cut his losses with the prospect and allow him to join Roma on a permanent deal prior to the 2015/16 season.

Having made just 13 appearances in a blue shirt, Salah did not believe he was afforded a proper opportunity to show the staff what he could do.

I didn’t play. You can see by the numbers. I didn’t have my chance, but you can see when I did get my chance I proved some people wrong.

Because in my mind I have to succeed here, when I left the Premier League I said I’d come back, and when I had the chance, I came.

Arriving back in Britain with a £36.5 million deal with Liverpool secured, the Egyptian has been nothing short of a sensation.

With 40 goals in all competitions to this point, Salah confesses he’s a different player to the one that people saw at Chelsea.

You can see the difference [in me] between now, a year before, two years before that. Every year, every day, every month I am proving myself. I always try to see my weakness, work on it, to be better as a person and a player, everything.
