Trent Alexander-Arnold: I still don’t understand why people want to see me!
Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has admitted that he’s still getting used to the fame that comes with representing one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Speaking at the launch of Liverpool’s new 2018/2019 kit, the 19-year-old said he still finds it odd when he’s asked to do off-field appearances and often wonders why people want to see him and not the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
He said:
When you’re asked to do appearances here and there, you still don’t understand why people want to see your face and not the bigger players in the team and the bigger names who have their names sung on a match day. It’s a bit surprising that people ask for me!
Trent was also asked if he has any plans to change his squad number from 66 next season, and said he hadn’t given it much thought, although 66 has brought him good luck so he might stick with it:
I haven’t really thought about it, it’s just stuck with me so far and it’s brought with it good games and good moments so far so I don’t there’s a rush to be changing it!
