Markovic blames Liverpool for pricing him out of exit

Lazar Markovic has hinted that Liverpool are pricing him out of a move away from the club.

Speaking to Belgian newspaper DH, as cited by Sport Witness, Markovic explains how the club are demanding too much money forcing potential suitors out of deals.

It’s to show that I’m still the same player, to show the people at Liverpool that they can’t treat me that way. Yes, it’s okay to take it personally when you are not let go because they’re asking for an unrealistic transfer amount.

The Serbian originally joined the club from Benfica back in 2014 has failed to make a mark at Anfield since.

After falling out of favour at the club he has had loan spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting, Hull City and Anderlecht, where he is currently applying his trade.

The winger made the move to Belgian in the January window, joining the club on loan but has only made five appearances since.

An emotional Markovic scored his first goal for the club against Genk during a 2-1 defeat at the weekend.

His comments are the latest indicator that there is little hope of any future for him at Anfield, with a summer exit likely at the end of the season.
