Liverpool show interest in Elseid Hysaj
Liverpool are eyeing a summer move for Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, accoring to reports.
However, it looks like Chelsea are in pole position to sign the Albanian as the Blues have already met with his agent Mario Giuffredi on multiple occasions.
There is a €50 million release clause in tHysaj’s contract and that could turn out to be a steal if the form the 24-year-old has shown in Serie A can be replicated in the Premier League.
With doubts about Nathaniel Clyne’s long term fitness, the Reds could be in the market for a are right-back but they will face competition for his signature with Chelsea and Manchester United also appearing to be keen on the right-back.
Napoli are also scrambling so that they don’t have to sell one of their star players. They are trying to tie Hysaj down to a new contract so they can fend off any suitors, but the money that the Premier League offers could see him force his way out of Serie A.
Hysaj has made over 100 appearances for Napoli since signing from Empoli for €6 million, and has turned into one of Napoli’s most important players in his three years at the Stadio San Paolo.
