Salah picks up two awards at Liverpool Players’ Awards 2018

Mohamed Salah picked up two awards at Liverpool’s Players’ Awards 2018 ceremony tonight to cap off a fantastic debut season for the Reds.

Salah, signed from Roma for a club record fee last summer, hit the ground running with the Merseyside club this season, helping lead Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Champions League final against Real Madrid.

As well as breaking a great deal of records this season for both the club and the league, Salah won the PFA Players’ Player Award and the FWA Player of the Year Award, and looks likely to sweep up the Golden Boot after this weekend, unless Harry Kane can summon a miracle.

Following tonight, the awards just keep on coming for the 25-year old Egyptian. Salah picked up both the Players’ Player of the Season Award and the fan voted Player of the Season Award, while young defender Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up Young Player of the Year Award.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain claimed the Goal of the Season title for his sensational strike against Manchester City in the Champions League, while young winger Harry Wilson won Academy Player of the Season.

Among a number of other awards dished out on the night, the fans were also shown appreciation, with the Bill Shankly Community Award going to fans helping food banks.
