Matip deal agreed
Joel Matip has agreed to join Liverpool.
He’s signed a pre-contract with the Reds to join on a free in the summer.
A number of clubs were fought off in the pursuit for Matip, as, understandably, he had plenty of suitors.
Welcome to Jurgen’s Reds, Joel.

Early return for Mario?
Mario Balotelli could be set for an early return to Liverpool after Sinisa Mihajlovic hinted the Italian may have played his last game for the San Siro giants.
Speaking about his players, the Milan boss said: “Those who don’t sacrifice themselves for the team to the 94th minute will no longer set foot on the field. It wasn’t just Balotelli, there were another two or three as well as him, they know who I’m talking about.”
Interesting. Would Klopp take Balotelli back?

Sinclair dazzles for U21s
Jerome Sinclair has shown Liverpool exactly what they’ll be losing at the end of the season as he helped fire Liverpool’s Under-21s into the semi-final of the U-21 Premier League Cup.
The Englishman has told the Reds he wants out of Anfield because of a lack of first-team opportunities.
He came off the bench to bag an equaliser and then an eventual winner after being left out of Jürgen Klopp’s Aston Villa squad.
The Reds blocked a potential £3m move to Watford recently, but will receive a fee for him (due to his age) at the end of the season, should he eventually leave – as is planned.

Nordtveit on the radar?
Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp are reportedly eyeing a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Havard Nordtveit.
Nordtveit is in the final months of his contract with the German club, and he could be the next free transfer to join up with the Reds after Joel Matip agreed to a Merseyside move.
Nordtveit was once an Arsenal player but left in 2011 without making an appearance for the Gunners.
He’s expected to announce his future plans soon.

Kolo breaks record
Kolo Toure’s goal on Sunday, his first for the club, has broken a new Liverpool record.
The defender became the 19th different player to score a goal for the Reds this season – more than any number of different players that have scored for the club in a single season before.
His header, Liverpool’s sixth goal of the match, rubbed salt into Aston Villa’s already excruciating wounds.
A more comical header you will not see, either.
