TRANSFER RUMOUR

Renato Sanches, 18-years-old, is supposed to be the next big star in world football.

He’s currently with Benfica in Portugal and is tipped to have what it takes to be a superstar.

As is custom when these types of labels are flung around, clubs become ‘interested’ in said players.

He has, reportedly, got an €80m release clause in a contract he signed very recently at the Estádio da Luz but, so say the same reports, Benfica would accept mere offers of £47m – which is generous of them.

Anyhow, Liverpool are said to be one of a number of clubs who watched Sanches against Porto just last week.

He grabbed an assist, setting up Konstantinos Mitroglou for his goal in a 2-1 loss.

Of course, oh but of course, Liverpool aren’t the only team willing to lump obscene amounts of money on the highly-rated starlet.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are touted to be watching the Portuguese midfielder too. All the usual suspects.

This all comes via the Express, who claim clubs are now on high alert having been made aware of the above release clause and potential acceptance of offers from the Lisbon giants.

Who knows what will become of these rumours, but when a player of this calibre – or supposed calibre anyway – becomes available, Liverpool aren’t usually far from the pulse.
