On Saturday, Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool host second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who sit five points behind league leaders Leicester City.
Klopp’s first match in charge for the Reds came mid-October against Tottenham away. The match ended 0-0.
Over four months later, he will have another shot to take down Spurs with bigger implications. A Reds win would be huge for Leicester who would open up an eight-point gap at the top if they can defeat Southampton on Sunday.
It has been confirmed that Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke on Saturday through injury.
Benteke may not have started this match, but most will feel Firmino most likely would have started had he been fit.
Nonetheless, Klopp will be able to field a pretty decent side against Tottenham. The Reds can make up some ground in the next few weeks since they have a match or two in hand against every club except Everton.
Barring any last second setbacks, Moreno should get the nod. Supporters have also been calling for a replacement at left back. Jonas Hector, who plays for Köln in the Bundesliga, has been the latest link for a left-back replacement.
CB - Mamadou Sakho
Arguably the best centre-back for Liverpool this season. He even received praise from Joey Barton over Twitter last month! Deserves the nod 100%.
CB - Dejan Lovren
Lovren has revived his Liverpool career under Klopp after an embarrassing start. With a decent last few outings, he should get the shirt.
RB - Nathaniel Clyne
Clyne should start at right-back on Saturday. He’s been in decent form. If not Clyne, Flanagan would probably get the nod.
CM - Emre Can
Emre Can did not have an outstanding international break, so he will look to rebound against Tottenham. One of our best midfielders this season.
CM - Jordan Henderson
Not a bad international break for Henderson. He should partner Emre Can in the midfield. His work rate is easily one of the best in the Premier League.
LM - Philippe Coutinho
The magician. He’s beginning to regain form after dropping off towards the middle of the season. With Firmino out, Coutinho should almost be a lock to be in the starting lineup.
RM - Adam Lallana
What a player he’s become under Klopp. His goal against Norwich will be remembered for a long time. Similar to Henderson, he has a very impressive work rate which is why he succeeds with gegenpressing.
ST - Divock Origi
A lot of people doubted Origi coming back from loan at Lille, but he has impressed in his first season as a Red. I expect him to be in the starting lineup.
ST - Daniel Sturridge
We can all breathe again after Sturridge has returned from international break without injury. If he is ready to go, I see him getting the start.
