Ok, so it’s only pre-season, they had players missing and are behind in terms of fitness, but Liverpool just beat Barcelona 4-0!

Wembley was packed out for the International Champions Cup game, with almost 90,000 fans, the vast majority of whom were supporting Liverpool.

The game didn’t disappoint the Reds fans, myself included, who’d taken the trip to London, with Jurgen Klopp’s men putting on a great display in the afternoon sunshine.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Divock Origi, Marko Grujic plus an own goal from former Red Javier Mascherano gave us all a reason to travel home with a huge smile on our faces and some much-needed optimism ahead of the Premier League season.

Liverpool pressed high up the pitch, attacked with pace and did a pretty good job limiting an attack containing two of the best players in the world to just a few chances.
