Trio awarded new contracts
Liverpool have confirmed that academy players Ben Woodburn, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin Stewart have all signed new long-term contracts this week.
17-year-old forward Woodburn has signed his first ever professional deal, a three-year contract, which is the longest someone of his age can be awarded.
Alexander-Arnold and Stewart have both been awarded five-year deals, securing their long term futures at the club.
All three have impressed in parts this season, with Welsh youth international Woodburn making the step up to the first team during pre season and making an immediate impact, scoring goals against Wigan and Fleetwood.
Alexander-Arnold made his full professional debut at right back in last month’s EFL Cup match against Tottenham, where Graeme Souness said he had “all the attributes to make a top player.”
Kevin Stewart is the most senior of the three at 23, but has managed to establish himself as an effective member of squad rotation, after the Reds picked him up on a free transfer following release from Tottenham.
He has made 16 first team appearances in all competitions and is a player Klopp considers a steady asset to the first team when called upon.
