Liverpool headed to Leicester on the back of a 16 day break hoping that their rest will have done them good. It certainly hadn’t.

The Reds were terrible in the first half and found themselves 1-0 down when Jamie Vardy got behind the defence and slotted home.

It was 2-0 before the break after Danny Drinkwater scored a wonderful goal and the home side deserved to be in front.

A formation change at half-time looked like it was improving things slightly but Vardy made it 3-0 with a close-range header.

Philippe Coutinho’s neat finish made it 3-1 to give Liverpool a glimmer of hope but despite numerous formation switches and substitutes, Liverpool couldn’t put enough pressure on the champions and that was that.

The second half was a bit better but the Reds got what they deserved for a terrible first half performance.
