Liverpool want to sign the ‘Jamie Vardy of Mali’
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are both thought to be interested in signing Moussa Marega, according to German outlet, Bild.
Marega has been dubbed the ‘Jamie Vardy of Mali’ after drawing comparisons to the Leicester City forward.
The striker is polar opposites in terms of style to the Leicester forward, acting more as a target man, but has taken an obscure career path, like Vardy, with spells in the lower leagues of French football and Tunisia before moving to Porto in 2016.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a big fan of the player, while Tottenham are searching for a back-up to Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen struggling to adapt to the Premier League in his debut season.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes from Portuguese side FC Porto and has scored 12 goals this season.
His parent club are now thought to be aware of interest in the player who has a £34 million release clause in his current deal.
