No offer on the table for Luan claims Gremio president
The president of Brazilian side Gremio, Romildo Bolzan has claimed that there are currently no offers on the table for their star man Luan.
Reports from the Liverpool Echo claim that Bolzan has dismissed talk of the Brazilain heading to Anfield, despite suggestions a deal was almost agreed between both clubs.
“Luan is a player who said he would have proposals but so far none have come, except for one about three years ago when he was on a different level,” Bolzan explained.
“We have no approach, no official proposal (from Liverpool). We have absolutely no concrete proposal.”
Luan is seen as one of the next big things to come out of South America after impressing for Gremio, but a move to Anfield may not be so straightforward.
On the other hand, Jair Peixoto, Luna’s agent has also recently revealed that they do regularly keep in contact with Liverpool, the two clubs have done business before. Lucas Leiva joined from the Brazilian outfit back in 2005.
“We do talk to Liverpool, as we talk to other clubs as well, but there is no proposal.”
Gremio may be forced to sell Luan this summer with the player having only year one remaining on his current contract, or they risk losing him for nothing at the end of next season.
