Liverpool continued their preparations for the new season with a 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin in a game set up to celebrate the 125 year anniversaries of both sides.

Here are how the Liverpool players rated in the game:

Simon Mignolet – 6

Didn’t have too much to do but dealt with what he had to pretty well.

Joe Gomez – 7

Played at right back with Nathaniel Clyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold absent. Was willing to join in attacks and defended well. Went to centre-back for the last 15 minutes.

Joel Matip – 7

His positioning was top class, he always seemed to be in the right place, including when he blocked a shot that was heading towards goal. Taken off with around 15 minutes to go.

Ragnar Klavan – 5

Very inconsistent. Looked neat and tidy at times but was easily beaten on other occasions.

Alberto Moreno – 4

Looked all at sea. Got beat far too often, his use of the ball was poor and he was booked for a very late challenge. Taken off at half-time.

Emre Can – 6

First game back but no signs of rust. Sat at the base of the midfield but was willing to bomb forward when the opportunity to do so arose. Was more advanced in the second half but came off on the hour mark.

Gini Wijnaldum – 7

Got the second goal with a well placed finish into the bottom corner. Taken off at half-time.

Adam Lallana – 6

Few nice touches and pressed well as usual. Taken off at half-time.

Sadio Mane – 6

Looked a bit rusty at times but should have had a penalty and set up Wijnaldum’s goal. Taken off at half-time.

Philippe Coutinho – 7

Started on the left rather than midfield and captained the side in the absence of Jordan Henderson and James Milner. Had some very good touches and looked really sharp. Played in midfield in the second half and played a wonderful ball to set up Salah for the third goal. Came off in the 65th minute.

Dominic Solanke – 8

Replaced the injured Divock Origi in the starting line-up and opened the scoring by beating the offside trap and looping in a header. His work-rate and pressing set up the second goal too. Taken off at half-time.

Andrew Robertson – 6

On at half-time. Showed his value early on with an overlap run and great cross that just evaded Salah. Looked composed on his debut.

Jordan Henderson – 6

On at half-time. Sat at the base of midfield and tidied up.

Roberto Firmino – 6

On at half-time. Should have made it 4-0 when he was played in by Salah but his chip was off target.

Mohamed Salah – 7

On at half-time. Came close to scoring a tap in from Robertson’s cross but made up for it around the hour mark. His pace was too much for Berlin to handle as he latched onto Coutinho’s through ball and lobbed the ‘keeper to make it 3-0.

Daniel Sturridge – 6

On at half-time. Some nice touches and a few well-worked half-chances.

Ovie Ejaria – 6

Came on for Can on the hour mark for his first appearance of pre-season. Didn’t have a lot to do.

Ryan Kent – 6

Repalced Coutinho after 65 minutes. Always looking to beat his man, who in the end had to result to hauling him down.

Jon Flanagan – 6

On for the last 15 minutes. Not really much time to impress.
