Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing promising Uruguayan youngster Gustavo Viera.
It’s claimed by Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport that the Reds are among a host of top European clubs keen to sign the promising 16-year-old forward.
Viera is currently plying his trade in his homeland with the Reds’ namesake, Liverpool Montevideo. The youngster has been catching the eye of many with some impressive performances in the Primera Division, and it looks as though a big move beckons for the striker.
Already an international for Uruguay’s Under-19 side, Viera is being tracked by a number of clubs across the continent, and Liverpool appear to hold a keen interest in securing one of South America’s hottest prospects.
This means that if the Reds are to make a genuine move for Viera, they will need to fend off a whole host of competition.
The report from CDS states that Juventus are especially keen on the attacker, while Chelsea also join Liverpool in their interest.
