Coutinho resurrects move to Barcelona
Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona appears to be back on.
Known to Liverpool fans as the “Little Magician”, seemed to have put his issues with Liverpool and the chaos of the summer transfer window behind him. With Man of the Match performances in recent weeks, it appeared the Coutinho was back to his best and ready to spearhead Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
However, reports suggest that agreement is in place between the club and Coutinho’s representatives, to allow Liverpool’s talisman to leave for Barcelona from January 1st, if an adequate offer is received. This agreement may appear to be a compromise between the two parties in order for Liverpool to get the best out of their star man as well as Coutinho getting his dream move to Barcelona.
Obviously, this news from the Catalan press will do little to impress Liverpool fans who were hoping the summer was just a moment of madness, that similar to previous transfer sagas like Steven Gerrard’s short but hurtful transfer request to Chelsea back in 2005. But if history is a great determiner, the cases of Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres, will show that every player has their price to the club, and preventing such moves are possible in the short term, but never realistic in the long.
