Bournemouth vs Liverpool – The Kop HQ’s match preview
How things can change in the space of a week!
Smashing Spartak Moscow 7-0 and in confident mood going into the Merseyside derby game, then two very disappointing home results and performances in a week against sides we should be beating and four dropped points, has now piled on more added pressure on Liverpool’s next game, away to Bournemouth on Sunday.
It’s fair to say that Jurgen Klopp took a few risks and sadly, they backfired. The main issue was making so many changes to the starting line-up against Everton. I understand making a few but not half the team, it upsets the rhythm of how the team play and the fluidity of our game and it proved costly.
We then struggled in similar fashion against a West Brom side, who are also poor but left Anfield with a share of the spoils.
This game against Bournemouth simply has to yield three points, it’s a must after what has just occurred and it will be interesting to see how Klopp approaches it as he can’t really afford to not play his strongest team now.
It’s imperative we give ourselves the best possible chance of claiming all three points and the only way to do that is by picking our best players.
Bournemouth are struggling, they are in the bottom three and just haven’t got going this season. We have bad memories of our last trip there though, as we lead 3-1 with 20 minutes to go and then capitulated to lose 4-3 after some catastrophic goalkeeping by Loris Karius. Let’s hope there is no repeat and we get the much-needed win that we require!
