Emre Can rejects Manchester City move
It’s almost a certainty that Emre Can will be leaving Liverpool in 2018, whether it happens in January or in the summer remains to be seen, but at least he won’t be joining a Premier League rival.
Juventus are the likely destination for the Germany international midfielder, with Chief Executive Beppe Marotta having informed Liverpool that talks are ongoing between the Serie A giants and Can’s representatives over a pre-contract deal, but Can has had offers from other clubs.
Italian source Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato, report that Premier League leaders Manchester City were interested in signing Can in the summer when his Liverpool contract expires.
However, the paper claims that Can is eager to join Juventus in the summer and rejected an approach from Manchester City, much to the delight of Liverpool fans who wouldn’t have taken the news of the midfielder joining a league rival well.
Bayern Munich are also believed to have been snubbed by Can who has his heart firmly set on Turin and Juventus.
