Liverpool are keeping tabs on Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of, according to El Confidencial.

The Spanish outlet claim that the German coach has long held an ‘obsession’ to sign the Costa Rican, and it seems that his long-term future no longer lies with Los Blancos.

El Confidencial claim that the main reason Navas has yet to move elsewhere is due to his unwillingness to depart the Santiago Bernabéu, with the former Levante man wanting to see out his contract, which runs until 2020.

Despite this, sources claim that Navas could move on in the summer, with Madrid looking to recover from a disastrous La Liga campaign by making a new goalkeeper their next big ‘Galactico’, with moves for either David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois in the works.

Furthermore, Madrid had been close to signing Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga before he signed a new deal last month, indicating that Navas is on borrowed time with the current back-to-back Champions League title holders.

According to El Confidencial, Klopp has made it clear on ‘several’ occasions to Madrid’s president Florentino Perez that he wants to sign Navas.

As well as the Reds’, Sevilla are also interested in the 31-year old.
