Dejan Lovren has been speaking of his determination to help Liverpool to their sixth Champions League trophy this weekend.

The Reds travel to Ukraine to face Real Madrid in the final of the prestigious competition, with Los Blancos keen to secure their third consecutive Champions League win.

Liverpool are relishing the chance to secure Europe’s most coveted prize, however, and Lovren has been speaking to Goal about how he is feeling ahead of the match.

Lovren has come in for criticism rather consistently since his £20m move from Southampton four years ago but he has nailed down a place in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Croatian international is set to be tasked with keeping Real Madrid’s attacking stars quiet on Saturday night and has admitted that he is desperate to reward the Reds fans with the European title.

Look, it’s the final of the Champions League. It’s Real Madrid. Half a billion people will be watching it all over the world. We are ready. We know we have our supporters behind us, and that is vitally important to us.

The fans sing about 2005 and winning it five times. Hopefully, after this weekend they’re singing about the sixth time! It would mean I achieved my dream. Then I can say ‘I made it in my life.’

Lovren is set to start alongside Virgil van Dijk against Real in what promises to be a highly intriguing encounter.
