Jose Enrique has surgery to remove brain tumour
Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery to remove a rare type of tumour from his brain.
The 32-year old, who spent five seasons with Liverpool between 2011-2016, took to social media to explain that within the space of one month, he was diagnosed with having a brain tumour and was then in surgery to have it removed.
Enrique played 99 games for Liverpool after arriving from Newcastle United in 2011 and was a mainstay in the first team for few seasons before falling down the pecking order.
Enrique left Anfield in 2016 to join Real Zaragoza, having been part of the League Cup winning squad during the 2011/12 season.
We all wish José the best of luck in his recovery.
