Having already signed Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria on loan from Liverpool, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is hoping to take another player from his former club.
According to reports, Gerrard wants to take Dominic Solanke on loan for the season and is “confident” that a deal can be done.
It looked like Solanke would be staying at Anfield for the season as Danny Ings and Divock Origi were heading for the exit. However, both of those more senior players could end up staying with Liverpool, which could provide Solanke with the opportunity to go and play regular first-team football on loan.
However, even if Ings and/or Origi don’t leave before the 5pm deadline, they both could join a Championship team on loan or secure a move abroad, so there is unlikely to be any movement in terms of Solanke until the futures of the duo are decided.
Rangers have until the end of August to complete a loan move for Solanke so they are in no rush to secure a deal.
