The club have confirmed that Grujic has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, and will now spend this season in the Bundesliga with Hertha.
The highly rated 22-year-old spent half of the previous campaign with Cardiff City, helping the Bluebirds to promotion to the top flight and impressing boss Neil Warnock in the process.
Warnock was interested in bringing the midfielder back to South Wales on another loan stint this season, however, Grujic rejected the offer and also dismissed a move to Championship side Middlesbrough shortly after.
The Serbian international was also the subject of an offer from Italian side Torino, who wanted to bring the midfielder to the club on a loan deal with a view to signing the player permanently the following summer, which the Reds quickly rejected.
Since signing in 2016, Grujic has made 12 first-team appearances under Jurgen Klopp and will be hoping that regular game time in Germany will be what he needs to break into Klopp’s first-team plans for the 2019/20 campaign.
