Crystal Palace 0-2 Liverpool: Fan reactions
James Milner scored a vital penalty late in the first half, and Sadio Mane netted the other goal late on in the second half to seal Liverpool’s hard-fought 2-0 victory over a gritty 10-men Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Mohamed Salah didn’t score a goal but was a centre of attraction in the game by winning a penalty and then getting in behind the Palace defence to force Aaron Wan-Bissaka to foul him and get a red card.
It wasn’t a devastating, swashbuckling performance from the Reds, however, winning these games by showing grit and determination was something we haven’t witnessed much from them.
So, this is a huge feather in their caps to grab three points at such a difficult place, and that too along with a clean sheet, which they haven’t kept at Selhurst Park since Palace’s re-introduction in the Premier League in 2013.
New big-money signing Alisson Becker proved why he deserved the big bucks to come to Anfield this summer. The Brazilian didn’t do anything extraordinary, but some of his long-range passes from pressure situations to set up attacks was just unreal. The 25-year-old made a couple of good saves to keep his sheet clean in the Premier League thus far.
Here’s how both sets of fans reacted at the final whistle:
