Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled Adam Lallana out of contention to face Tottenham this weekend.
Speaking at his weekly pre-match press conference, as reported by Andy Hunter, Klopp says that Lallana is unavailable for the meeting at Wembley, but he is ‘in a good way’.
The player himself has already confirmed he is targetting a comeback this month, but the game against Liverpool’s top-four rivals has come too quickly for the England international.
He has been back at Melwood receiving treatment as part of the recovery from his groin injury.
Lallana has been sidelined since suffering an injury with the England squad ahead of their meeting with Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
The England international had been hoping to put his injury problems behind him after missing so much of the previous campaign.
With the Reds being tipped to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, Lallana’s eventual return will hand Klopp with a huge boost.
