Usually, international breaks can be a hindrance and as somebody who isn’t really a fan of his national team, I often hate when they come around and interrupt the Premier League season.
However, this time around, I’m glad that Liverpool have a bit of time off after a brutal run of games against the likes of Tottenham, PSG, Napoli, Chelsea twice and Manchester City.
The fixture list now looks to be easing up somewhat, at least on paper!
I’ve taken a look at Liverpool’s next five fixtures and predicted how they’ll perform in each of them:

20th October - Huddersfield Town (A)
Huddersfield have not looked good at all this season, but a late afternoon away game against any Premier League team can be dangerous, especially on the back of an international break where rhythm and fitness concerns may linger.
Having said that, Liverpool must win this game and I think they will do so rather comfortably as The Terriers look suspect at both ends of the pitch.
Huddersfield 0-3 Liverpool
24th October- Red Star Belgrade (H)
Liverpool will be looking to get back on track in the Champions League after the defeat away to Napoli.
Anything less than three points at home to Red Star would be a terrible result but the Reds are excellent at Anfield and I can’t see anything but a Liverpool win.
Liverpool 4-0 Red Star Belgrade
27th October - Cardiff City (H)
Like Huddersfield, Cardiff have not looked at all impressive this season, especially away from home.
This might not be the prettiest of games but it’s one that I think Liverpool will manage well.
Liverpool 3-0 Cardiff City
3rd November - Arsenal (A)
After a sluggish start, Arsenal look really good under Unai Emery. Whilst they still seem a bit suspect at the back, they have an excellent attack with some very good goal scorers.
It will be fascinating to see how Emery sets his side up at home for a late kickoff and a lot will depend on that. I think both sides will cancel the other out.
Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool
6th November - Red Star Belgrade (A)
The day after Bonfire Night in the UK, I imagine there’ll be some pyrotechnics around in Belgrade too!
The atmosphere in Belgrade will be fierce and hostile and Liverpool will have to deal with that. Napoli only managed a draw there, but I think Liverpool will get a narrow win.
