Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno is unlikely to complete a January transfer to Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, as cited on Sport Witness, Barcelona general manager Pep Segura has denied that there will be any full-backs arriving during the new year.
Barcelona want to strengthen at left-back to provide extra competition for Jordi Alba.
The La Liga champions have been linked with Moreno and fellow Spanish defender Juan Bernat.
The out-of-favour Liverpool drew surprise links to Barcelona earlier this month, with suggestions that he could available at a cut-price rate.
Lucas Digne’s move to Everton during the summer has left Ernesto Valverde short at the back.
However, the club now look set to wait until the summer to re-evaluate the position.
Alba has largely been unchallenged at left-back for some time now, but there are concerns over the player’s contract situation at the club.
