Klopp rules Naby Keita out of Huddersfield game
Jurgen Klopp has officially ruled midfielder Naby Keita out of Liverpool’s meeting with Huddersfield this weekend.
Speaking at his weekly pre-match press conference, as reported by Andy Hunter, Klopp revealed that Guinea international will miss the match after suffering an injury during the international break.
Keita suffered what appeared to be a thigh injury during an African Cup of Nations qualifier during the break and will now miss the return of the Premier League.
The midfielder’s absence is the latest blow in Liverpool’s injury troubles, with a number of players suffering from knocks.
Klopp also played down any fears of Virgil van Dijk, amid suggestions that a rib injury was still causing him problems when playing.
The Reds are yet to put a timeframe on Keita’s return, but Klopp will be keen to bring the midfielder back into the fold as soon as possible.
