With Joe Gomez set to miss roughly six weeks of action with a fractured leg, two of the players in the frame to get more game time in his absence are Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne.
However, neither of the duo will play this weekend as they’ve both been ruled out.
Dejan Lovren is still suffering from a concussion after a clash of heads in training, whilst Clyne is still feeling the effects of a knock.
That means that Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk will start for the Reds at centre-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.
The good news is that Andrew Robertson is back fit after missing the 3-1 win over Burnley and he should slot straight back in at left-back, replacing Alberto Moreno who will drop to the substitutes bench.
The injuries to Clyne and Lovren could see youngsters Rafa Camacho and Nat Phillips on the Reds’ bench as injury cover.
