Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge missed the team’s 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion with a virus, according to Melissa Reddy.

The forward was not included in the 18-man matchday squad by Jurgen Klopp as the Reds got back to winning ways in the Premier League.
A penalty from Mohamed Salah just after half-time was enough to seal a crucial win for Liverpool as they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points, with Manchester City having a game in hand.
The Reds were, however, without their backup striker in Sturridge as he was sidelined, owing to a reported illness.
This news comes after the experienced striker turned in a rather abject display in the third round of the FA Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
Sturridge will hope to recover in time for Liverpool’s upcoming home game against Crystal Palace.
