Alisson calls for calm in the title race
Alisson has called on his teammates to remain calm after Liverpool moved back to the top of the Premier League following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth.
Jurgen Klopp’s side had seen their lead at the top of table slip after Manchester City moved top on goal difference following their win over Everton last week, but victory over Bournemouth ensured Liverpool returned to the summit ahead of City’s clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
Following Liverpool’s draws against West Ham and Leicester, the Liverpool Echo have reported that Alisson has urged his side to focus, admitting that one mistake could be costly in the race for the title.
In a moment like this, calmness is very important. Concentration, too – to be aware that one error could be fatal. A defeat could define the entire season. Every game is important; things change to so quickly, especially in the Premier League which has such a high level of quality.
Every team, even the bottom side, cause trouble to the top teams at home. Bournemouth beat Chelsea 4-0. Everyone has quality so you really need to be switched on all the time.
Alisson has been a standout figure for Liverpool this season following his £67 million move from Roma, conceding just 15 goals in 26 league appearances this campaign.
