Ryan Kent is unlikely to complete a permanent transfer to Rangers, according to Gary McAllister.

Pete O’Rourke reports that according to the former Liverpool man, a Rangers stay is unlikely.

Kent has enjoyed an impressive season on loan at Rangers, working alongside Steven Gerrard and the winger had been tipped to complete a permanent move, but the chances of that deal taking place now look slim.

McAllister revealed that part of Kent’s success in Scotland this season has been the familiar faces that surround him at the club.

The youngster is set to face a fight to break through at Anfield and may still need to leave in the summer for regular game time.

Jurgen Klopp has a settled front three at Anfield, with Xherdan Shaqiri providing depth on the bench.

The club could also welcome back Harry Wilson next season, with the Welsh international catching the eye with his performances at Derby in the Championship, meaning there may be little room left for Kent.
