Alisson confirms squad number change for next season
Liverpool have confirmed that Alisson will take the number one shirt next season.
As part of the release of their new 2019/20 kit, the club revealed that the Brazilian will no longer wear the number 13.
The Reds today unveiled their new-look kit for the next campaign, which pays tribute to club legend Bob Paisley OBE.
The news will delight football pursuits around the world after the Brazilian took the unusual decision to take the number 13 shirt upon joining the club from Roma.
Liverpool have been without a number one since Loris Karius left the club, with the German previously adopting that number.
Simon Mignolet currently wears the number 22 but has shown no signs of being able to threaten Alisson for the number one spot at Anfield anytime soon.
While there was never any doubts over the Brazilian’s position in between the sticks at Anfield, this news further cements his place as Liverpool’s main man in goal for years to come.
