Steven Gerrard is reportedly eyeing up a move for Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo as he looks to bolster his attacking options at Rangers this summer.
The Gers are looking to get business done swiftly and Gerrard knows the 21-year-old well from his previous job coaching the Liverpool U18s.
According to Football Insider, cited by Express Sport, the Reds legend has led negotiations and wants to utilise Ojo the same way Jurgen Klopp uses Mohamed Salah.
Gerrard has promised the left-footed winger he can realise his potential in Scotland, similarly to loanee Ryan Kent last season, and reignite a stagnated career so far.
Ojo has spent most of his career on loan at Championship clubs – Wigan, Wolves and Fulham – and most recently spent a lacklustre spell at Reims in France.
He made 16 appearances in total for the side that finished 8th in Ligue 1, scoring one goal in the Coupe de la Ligue.
Rangers are thought to be one of a number of clubs eager to sign Ojo, who moved to Anfield for £2million from MK Dons as a 14-year-old.
Certainties to leave Liverpool this summer
Despite wanting to leave the club last summer, Mignolet has been a true professional this season as he’s made just two appearances – both in defeats. Liverpool are expected to ask for around £10m for the 31-year-old, who will be eager for regular football ahead of EURO 2020.
Injuries and the inspired uprise of Alexander-Arnold have squashed Clyne’s Liverpool future and the Reds have valued him at £15m this summer. Bournemouth, the team he’s spent the second half of the season with, are joined by Crystal Palace, West Ham and Napoli in their interest.
Moreno is out of contract at the end of next month and there’s no sign of him receiving an extension. Klopp has given him just two league appearances this season due to the stunning form of Robertson.
Another player out of contract is Sturridge, who looks set to call an end to his six-year stay at Anfield. There’s been no breaching Klopp’s preferred attacking trio and with the young Brewster knocking on the door, now seems the right time to depart.
