Sheyi Ojo has agreed terms over a loan deal that will see the winger link up with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Rangers – the Daily Mirror reports.

Should Ojo move, he would become the third Liverpool player to arrive at Ibrox on loan since Gerrard was appointed as Rangers manager last year.

Ojo has had spells on loan at Fulham and, most recently, French side Reims – where the 21-year-old struggled for form, scoring just once in 18 appearances.

A move north of the border would see Ojo follow in the footsteps of Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria, with both Liverpool youngers moving to Rangers on loan deals last season – to varying degrees of success.

22-year-old Kent enjoyed a highly successful spell in Scotland, making 43  appearances and ending the season as PFA Young Player of the Year.

Ejaria meanwhile, struggled to find form, cutting short his loan spell in January of this year.

With Steven Gerrard looking to challenge for the Premiership title next season, he may also seek to keep Ryan Kent at Rangers for at least another year, although that task may be complicated by Aston Villa and Leeds United’s reported interest in the talented forward.

It is expected to be a busy window for Gerrard and Rangers, as they look to close last season’s nine-point gap to title winners Celtic – while also building a squad capable of challenging in Europe.

The Glasgow side will feature in next month’s Europa League qualification rounds, as they bid to emulate and possibly even better last season’s achievement of reaching the competitions group stage.

Ojo, meanwhile, looks set to become Steven Gerrard’s first summer signing, with the pacy winger unlikely to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans anytime soon.

The England youth international will surely be keen to gain further first-team experience under the guidance of Gerrard, after featuring just eight times for Liverpool’s senior side so far.
