AC Milan’s interest in Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has reportedly cooled after they have set their sights on a younger alternative, according to reports from Calcio Mercato, as cited on TEAMtalk.
Lovren has fallen out of favour at Liverpool, with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip usually ahead of him as Klopp’s first choices alongside Virgil van Dijk.
In recent weeks there have been rumours about Lovren’s future at Anfield following this decrease in game time.
Reports suggested that a move to AC Milan was on the cards for the Liverpool player and it was rumoured that Lovren had agreed to join the San Siro outfit.
He was said to be recommended by fellow Croatian, Zvonimir Boban who was with the Italian team for a decade.
However, AC Milan have now reportedly cooled their interest in the defender as they target moves for either Kostas Manolas or Ozan Kabak.
