Schalke in talks to sign Camacho
Liverpool’s Rafael Camacho is rumoured to be in talks over a transfer to join Bundesliga side Schalke, according to reports from German outlet Kicker.
The 19-year old only made 14 appearances for Liverpool’s U23s last season, scoring eight goals and assisting a further five for his team-mates.
His unhappiness at Liverpool has sparked interest from clubs in the Premier League such as Wolves, while Portuguese outfit Sporting are also keen.
At Liverpool, Camacho has not been playing in his favoured position – which is believed to be the catalyst in his desire to leave the English club.
Speaking to social media last season, Camacho hit out at the Liverpool coaching staff for playing him out of position.
I’m not a right-back, I’m an attacker who scores goals, that’s my DNA.
He is likely to make the change this summer after not being given much game time with Liverpool.
Camacho knows that to improve himself he needs to be playing frequent games and Schalke have a great reputation for improving young players.
