Young Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg is due to undergo a medical today ahead of his proposed move to join Liverpool.
According to the Telegraph, the PEC Zwolle defender is closing in on a move to Anfield, as the Reds look to add another Dutch defender to their ranks.
Van den Berg has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield and it now appears to be a matter of when and not if the deal is confirmed.
The Reds have done well to secure his services for a reported fee of £1.79 million, given the likes of Bayern Munich and Ajax were both keen to sign the youngster.
Van den Berg is not expected to feature heavily in the first-team squad next season and should be considered as one for the future, but it remains a major coup for the club to see off European competition in the race to sign him.
Liverpool's most promising youngsters
Bobby Duncan is looking to make a name for himself at Liverpool and lose the tag of being ‘Steven Gerrard’s cousin’.
Could Ki-Jana Hoever and van den Berg be the Dutch duo to lead Liverpool’s defence for years to come?
Adam Lewis could well go out on loan next season to try and get some game time under his belt.
Curtis Jones is another young player for supporters to get excited about. He’ll be looking to play more senior football in the coming years.
