According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, Liverpool’s Portuguese youngster Rafael Camacho is ‘poised to join’ Sporting this summer.

The 19-year-old has refused to sign a new contract with the Reds in search of first-team football next year and as a result, Liverpool will be looking to sell Camacho this summer to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of his deal.

The Portuguese wide-man made his full debut for Liverpool in a 2-1 loss to Wolves in the FA Cup last season but spent the majority of the season playing with the club’s U23s side.

The dynamic forward appeared 14 times in the Premier League 2, in which he registered eight goals and five assists.

It has been suggested that the Jurgen Klopp and Camacho don’t see eye-to-eye as a few months back the player criticised the Liverpool manager for playing him as a right-back, rather than in his more preferred attacking role.

When quizzed on his performances, he discussed his role and how he felt about being played out of position.

I’m not a right defender, I’m an attacker who scores goals.
