Manchester United are in advanced talks with Lille over a possible £70m move for winger, and reported Liverpool target Nicolas Pepe, according to Duncan Castles of The Times.

The report claims that whilst Liverpool have sounded out Pepe’s representatives to discuss the possibility of him moving to Anfield, they’ve yet to make an official approach to Lille and it looks like Man United are at a stage where they’re in negotiations with the French club.

Pepe is one of the hottest attacking properties on the market at the moment and with Lille president Gerard Lopez confirming that the Ivorian is for sale, interest in him is strong.

Accordng to Castles, a source close to the Lille star has confirmed that United made their move to sign Pepe last week and talks are still ongoing.

United are keen to drastically improve what was a poorly-performing squad last season and it looks like they’ll use the money they hope to earn from selling Romelu Lukaku to fund a move for Pepe.
