Karius spent last season on loan at Besiktas in the first of what was a two-year loan agreement.
It had been suggested he could be on the move again this summer after a less than impressive start to life in Turkey.

Four players who could be on their way out of Liverpool this summer
Harry Wilson looks like he could leave Liverpool on loan once more, potentially to a Premier League outfit after his season with Derby County.
Dejan Lovren has been linked with moves away from Anfield this summer and may want to leave if regular game time is not on offer.
Ben Woodburn needs a good loan spell to get some senior football under his belt and rediscover the potential he has.
Adam Lewis could be given a chance to go out on loan to play senior football. He is highly rated by those behind the scenes at Anfield.
