Mesut Ozil is back in training ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The German has been missing over concerns surrounding his safety in recent weeks, following a failed carjacking also involving Sead Kolasinac.

Ozil also missed last weekend’s 2-1 win at home to Burnley because of illness, but could be in contention at Anfield, the Gunners have confirmed.

Considering some past struggles in the fixture and a lack of defensive input, these Liverpool supporters have cheekily given their thoughts on the 30-year-old starting on Twitter.

It’s certainty tempting fate in hoping Ozil starts, considering the technical quality he possesses.

The forward has struggled at Anfield a number of times, however, with his body language poor and his work-rate lacking in defeats there.

It would be a surprise if Ozil featured prominently on Saturday, but a substitutes’ appearance shouldn’t be ruled out.

He has the vision to hurt anyone on his day, especially when legs and minds are tiring late on.

A surprise start for him would likely only benefit Liverpool, though, considering his lack of game time.
