Liverpool will aim to keep their early season momentum going when they face Newcastle United at Anfield in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are the only team to have won all four of their games so far in the league this season. They have looked a side that are going to challenge Manchester City for the title again.
This weekend the Reds will face a Newcastle side that have struggled under Steve Bruce so far. However, we saw them get an unexpected win over Tottenham few weeks back, so they cannot be taken lightly by any means.
In terms of team news, Liverpool will continue to miss the services of Alisson, Naby Keita and Nathaniel Clyne. Other than that, every other player who went on international duty has returned fit and healthy.
Here’s how we think the German may line his team up:
GK - Adrian
In the absence of Alisson, Adrian will continue to feature in goal.
RB - Trent Alexander-Arnold
The youngster has done well at right-back so far. He should slot in for the game on Saturday.
CB - Joel Matip
Even though Joe Gomez is an option, Matip has done well alongside Virgil van Dijk. So, the latter should start against Newcastle.
CB - Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman is one of the irreplaceable cogs in the team and will start on Saturday.
LB - Andy Robertson
The Scotland captain didn’t have the best international break, but that shouldn’t keep him out of the XI for the game on Saturday.
CDM - Fabinho
The Brazil international is now one of the regular starters in the team. He should do the same against Newcastle.
RCM - Jordan Henderson
The captain has excelled since his move to the advanced midfield role. He is in line to lead the team on Saturday.
LCM - Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutchman had a fantastic time playing for his country last week. He should start against his former club on Saturday.
RW - Mohamed Salah
Salah was rested during the international break, so he should be fit and fresh to fire in the game against Newcastle.
ST - Roberto Firmino
Firmino is probably one of the first names on the team sheet. That should be the case on Saturday as well.
LW - Sadio Mane
The Senegal international has been in hot form so far this season. He should complete the front three on Saturday.
